Who Can Enter?
If you are 18 years of age or older, live in Brooklyn, are a legal resident or US citizen, and wish to start a business in Brooklyn, you are eligible. "PowerUP!" is a competition to help applicants start a business.
What is the Prize?
The prizes include:
- One 1st Place Award: $15,000
- Two 2nd Place Awards: $5,000 each
- Three Merit Awards: $750 each
- Three Honorable Mentions: $500 each
Where does this take place?
The PowerUP! Business Plan Competition orientations, classes, and research take place at the Brooklyn Business Library, 280 Cadman Plaza West, Brooklyn, NY 11201, 718.623.7000.
How Can I Apply?
All applicants must attend one orientation. The orientation will give you all the details about applying to PowerUP! Applications are due May 19, 2008.
When does PowerUP! take place?
